1988 Formula 242LS - mystery wire - HELP

I recently rebuilt my motor and connot find where a certain wire goes. It comes out as a single wire splitting out from the main engine wiring harness. It splits out on the boat side of the wiring harness. It is tan with a blue stripe. It is only long enough to make it to the following places. The Mercathode or the temp sensors on the thermostat housing. I am leaning toward the mercathode because the wire plastic wire loom that goes around the wire is slightly melted like it got up against the exhaust manifole. All guages work fine. Can anyone help a poor idiot that didn't write down where it goes.
Thanks,
Jimmy

I'm not 100% sure, but i think that runs to the temp sensor for a warning buzzer.

Tan with blue stripe is the buzzer circuit. Normally open, so if you touch it to ground with ign on your buzzer should sound.

It goes to the high water temp switch which is the larger of the two senders in the t-stat housing I believe

This wire can also be seen at the low oil pressure switch and the drive fluid bottle.

Touching it to ground coud have a 10 second delay too.

Probably the temp warning like wobble said.

Drive bottle warning wires are tan/blue also but has push on connector not a loop like oil and temp :D

Wire goes 3 places, oil pressure switch, water temp switch, drive oil res level.

It appears that the wire that is not connected is the tan wire with a blue stripe that goes up to the helm. I assume that it connects to the buzzer. If I take it to ground I get no buzz. Does anyone know where the tan/bl wire connects the other tan/bl wires on the engine sensors. Thanks, Jimmy
