502MPI to 500HP---OIL?
 

I have 502MPI that was upgraded to a 500HP package although it may not make a difference in regard to my question. I was wondering what the best brand of oil and weight might be, and frequency of changing it. I heard mixing some Lucas Oil product with it is good- is this true? I burn about a quart of oil per 10 hrs- is this in line? Thanks all!

Do a search. Try "oil", "Mobile 1", or, "Hydrocruiser". You might just find an opinion or two on the subject :D

Welcome, but good luck. This has been discussed alot and the concensus seemed to be follow your personal preference (maybe to keep the fight to a minimum)

I use Amsoil 20-50 always worked great for me, just my 2 cents.

BTW: In my 502's I have always used Mobil 1 15/50 redcap that just came off the market.....jury is still out on the "improved" gold cap :rolleyes: that replaced it.

Thanks I agree there is an abundance of info and opinions- after more research I am going to try Mobil 1 20w50 and mobil 1 filter. I'll go 25 hrs. I'm WOT often.
