need cam for 575 sci
 

I m looking for the best cam for a 575. has anyone ran the 741 crane in this motor.I was told it could be a liitle much for an injected motor at idle .
I have installed canfield cnc heads , supper chiller teague fuel upgrades az speed calibration and currently run 8lbs @5700.I would like to spin the motor around 6000.
Any help you can give is really apriciated.

I'm considering rebuild also. I'm approaching this question as what upgraded heads, pistons, and cam combo? Should I just assume that I need the heads flowed and custom cam ground or is there an off the shelf grind that works well already with a common heads and piston combo?

Over the winter we freshened up a pair of 575 SCI's that had been previously tweaked by Zul Racing.

Upon tear down, we found that the factory dished pistons were shelved for a set of flat tops. Heads had a very mild port job. Blower pulleys were stock.

We completely went through the motors, bored to 509", all new Ferrea Inconel/stainless valves and a custom ground set of hyd roller cams with a grind similar to the HP 500EFI from Ultradyne. Blowers were freshened by The Blower Shop. ECU's were bumped to 5450 rpm. blower pulleys remained stock.

Dyno results proved to be very impressive. The 575's really liked the increase in compression and the roller cam we chose. In the end, the made 690 hp @5400 with stock blower pulleys (4 psi)

The 575's are really held back by the stock flat tappet .559 lift cams and the low 7.5 comp dished pistons.
