Hydromotive props
Do I need a different Thrust washer from a Bravo 1 prop to a Hydro prop?
I have a Bravo 1 LWP drive. Standard shaft--1999 model I did get the spline coupler, but I started to think I need to change the thrust washer also? I need to know for testing on Sunday |
Re: Hydromotive props
When I tried a hydromotive over my normal Bravo One prop I did need a different thrust washer otherwise I had about a 1/4" in & out play without the correct washer.

Re: Hydromotive props
The same thrust washer is used. The difference is in the castle nut. The Hydro's take the old style castle nut. It's only about 1" long compared to the 3 or 4" found in the flo-torque hubs.

Re: Hydromotive props
Well, did not need a new thrust washer :)
Used the same along with teh new adapter :) Am pleasantly impressed with the new props 7-9mph gain at 3,000 4-6 at top end :) This is with 90 degree 70% humidity and not very long running distances. What impressed me the most, was the trottle range I now have :) Prior I would be out of speed at half throttle and at teh rev limits :( Now I am still climbing and away from the rev by about 200 :) |
