Best way to transport boat??????

Purchasing a 25 foot Outlaw from a guy about 10 hours away. Talked to a few transporters; one wanted to tow it the typical way. Another wanted to winch the boat and trailer on the back of a roll back. Is that OK?? Doesn't seem right to me.

Should the boat be trailered with the cock pit cover, full cover or no cover.

Only 10 hours away, wouldn't you prefer to just get on the highway and pick it up yourself with whatever tow vehicle you plan on using?

I'd pick it up myself also.... anyway... you can put the cockpit cover on, my advice just to be sure, I would tape off the cover around the front of the windscreen to prevent too much air from getting up under the cover while in tow. If it has a tow cover, use it. 10 hrs of towing without a cover and you'll have a black coating of road dirt all over the interior... did that once on a 4 hour trip, spent 2 hours cleaning it!!! I've seen rigs up on flat beds and rollbacks before, I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done... just make sure whoever tows it for you has INSURANCE!!!!

Good Luck!!!

I had my boat towed out from Florida on a trailer. They used a dually truck. I told him to leave the cockpit cover off. I figured it's easier to clean than buff the scuffs. It arrived fine, a little dirty and that was 2900 miles. I would leave all covers off, have someone tow it with their truck and make sure YOU have insurance as soon as the driver hooks it up to his truck.
