Take the money you would spend on the blower, combine it with the money you can get out of your motor, and buy a 502 or carbed hp500. You will be a long ways ahead with longetivity, and at resale time you will be WAY ahead....
2 cents worth.....

Thanks for the advise but would like to hear results from people who actually have them on there own boats or had one. buying another engine is an option but like to talk to a person who currently has one installed or had one i like to know the actuall ups and downs.

Re: 7.4 310 H.P supercharged ?
I've never tried it or heard of anyone.
BUT, the 310hp has cast pistons, peanut port heads, and lighter rods than a 454 mag. The cast pistons are the weak link followed by the rods.
BTW, I have the same engine (1989 version) so I'm in the same boat (pun inteneded). I have a plan to get to 400hp this winter without a supercharger.
If I had $2k to spend on my engine, I'd yank it in a heart beat and drop in a big cam'ed 502 with a nice tall single plane intake knocking out +500hp!

Re: 7.4 310 H.P supercharged ?
Found this over at hotboat.com forums.
http://www2.hotboat.com/forums/showt...&highlight=330
Seems some have done it with apparent sucess. Keys seem to be 1) low boost, 2) doing everything possible to avoid detonation, and 3) no increase in revs.
