Prop problem

I was out a few days ago with a few friends on a 25' Baja Outlaw with T-350's and Mercury props....ss for Alphas 21P.
Not mirages. I don't know the type..3 blades..small hub for Alpha...the 3 "ports" by the hub's end were plugged with rubber covers...

here's the deal. Boat ran fine for a couple hours. Stopped for lunch and after idling a 1/2 hour out of a canal when my buddy went to get us on plane the props would not dig in and get us up. Many attempts later and certainly no luck getting on plane with one drive or the other...we went home at 3 mph...what a day.

The props were taken to a shop and the hubs were fine...no damage..he had been using them for a couple years.

He switched to Mirages and everything is fine now.

Possible the props did not have enough surface area for the extra passenger's weight?

Re: Prop problem

Did the props "bight" to much or did they just blow out?

Have your buddy try to get on plane with BOTH drives at the same time. :D

Probably using the wrong oil or filter.

We did have 15W-50 M-1 and a M-1 filter on...very good oil analysis.

...maybe a step fell off?

It seems to me that the key here is "stopped for lunch"
