Default hydrolic steering hose blow out?

My buddy has a 99 Power Quest with Imco steering and he had hoses blow out and lost steering. Luckily he was at idle. What would happen if he had been running hard? Has this happened to anyone else? Imco is sending him 4 new hoses (new design looks like a steel braided hose) for $50 each.

Putting the fittings on is the easy part. Cutting the hose is a bioth! Don't the outside hoses come preassembled? Good Luck.

The hose itself blew. There was a hole in each hose the size of a dime. The fittings were fine.

btw, thanks Fred! The sender works great! You are awesome!

perhaps it was a defective section of hose from the manufacturer if the end were in tact

one of my imco hoses popped yesterday, nitwits say to mount the brackets and the thru-hull hyd fittings in a line across from the center of the gimbal, well thats fine as long as you don't trim the drive up and turn the wheel in shallow water, the thru-hull fittings should have been mounted three inches higher above the center line of the external rams.boy does that urk me.

mcraymond3 if the hose blew running it hard the steering would have gotten real stiff and start pulling to the right by that time he should have lifted on the throttle.
