Where to get service?
While on vacation I hit a deadhead and damaged one of my props and (I believe) sheared a driveshaft on my 300 ProMax. I have heard that it takes special tooling to repair these motors and a regular marina probably cant handle a job like this. Is this true and where would be a good place in lower Alabama or the Florida panhandle to have this done?
Thanks, dead in the water for now..... |
Re: Where to get service?
If you are anywhere near Destin head over to Legendary Marine, they will take care of you.

Re: Where to get service?
Thanks for the tip Hillbilly - Destin is only 2 hrs away. Is pulling a driveshaft something a competent but not professional mechanic can do?

Re: Where to get service?
You need a few specialty tools and you defenitly need a factory manual, if your talking about doing it yourself and you dont have the tools it probably isn't gonna happen, if your talking about a less then ideal shop doing the work its not the best situation but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
