Window tint?

Anyone window tint their boat windshield? If so, what were the results and would you do it again? Thanks in advance for any replies.

What is a windshield? :D

I think it looks OK on dark colored boats but not light colors. The only problem I see is seeing through it at night or overcast days.

I don't like the clear look myself, so when my windshield cracked I just replaced it with tinted plexi. I know thats not what you are looking for but I figured I would show you what it looks like on my boat. I think it looks 100% better. I disagree with Dave only because I think it can look good on a light colored boat, just depends what boat. Here is how mine came out.

If your windows are plastic, be careful which tint you use. Some tint adhesives will react with the plastic and cause irreversible cloudiness.

I've spoken with the manufacturer (www.protint.com) of the clear-tear-offs for NASCAR windshields (polycarbonate) . He said some of his tints might work and sent samples to me for testing, but my tests were inconclusive.

If you find a tint that works with plastic, please post the source because I'm interested too.

What kind of boat do you have ? if the windows are plastic dont waste your time.
Some brands of tint will stick to plastic , but if your not satisfied youll ruin them when you take it off .
Also some glass cannot take the heat absorbtion from a dark window film , they will crack.
Take my word its been my profession for the past 12 years.

34: I like the look of Go Time - more eye-catching with the dark windscreen - I haven't seen a dark shield I didn't like, including on lighter boats, as long as they've got some black
in the graphics.

The curved portions of my windshield are plastic, so I may have to re-think. Maybe the dar limo tint on the sides only.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm going to use that stuff they use on buses that they can paint ona nd you can see thru--on windshield and hatch's. Special sign shop here does it.

I tinted a boat a few years ago and the inside of the tine was super reflective--it was like being on a tanning bed all day. If you go with tint make sure they don't do that to you.
