Seems like you only need to drain the exhaust risers, outdrive, and raw water cooling lines to heat exchanger.

Its in the book.

Short version:

First, warm the engine up to operating temperature.
Remove the Fuel Filter, drain half of the fuel out, and fill it with Mercury 2-Stoke Oil. Re-install filter.
Hook up your muffs or your engine flush fitting to 5-6 gallons of antifreeze, and let it idle its way through the antifreeze, and shut it off.

DO NOT spray fogging oil down the throttle body.

You're done.

Make sure and use that enviromantaly safe anti freeze, the stuff made by sierra that way you don't have to worry about dumping it down the storm drain next year when you start it up for the first time in the driveway.

That's what I do. The only concern i have ever had if if the thermostat is hanging up and hence a portion of the engine is not flushed with anti-freeze.

I always wondered if I should pull the stats ...but never did.
It's a small but present risk I think.

Brian, couple questions - is this recommended for other than 525's (I have 454mags) and why no fogging oil? Is it because injected?
Thanks

this post is out of synch in relation to a closed cooling system such as the 525

mercury now recommends either shooting fogging oil directly into the cylinders or hooking an aux tank to the fuel line and using a concoction of fuel and oil they do not want the dry air pendulum to have oil in it
