For that size boat, with a Sportmaster drive, I would estimate 76-78 mph, or a bit less with a regular Bravo. The fastest stepped V-bottoms I have seen with a 525 are about 82 mph from the Lavey Craft, and 80 for the Howard Bullet. I think the Superboat (29'?) being built up near the MRD shop was supposedly capable of mid-80's with a 525.

Re: How fast is a 26 Donzi with a 525?
A couple of buddies had 26's one with 496HO roughly 65mph on the handheld with stock prop; k-planes; dual batteries. The other had a 502mag with standard configuration and got a best of 67 I think. So using the ole rule of thumb that it takes 15hp per mph gain I'd say yeah ballpark around 73-76. Those 26's are heavy boats. The above mentioned stock 26 was weighed in at a truck stop at around 67-6800 lbs. Almost a grand above listed weight.

Thanks for the info guys. I was hoping they would be faster than that. They say they run good in the rough. But that's what heavy boats do. Thinking of moving up to a 26 and would like to get something that runs close to 80 without having to supercharge it. The Bullet would be the ticket but pretty pricey . Aproximately how much hp would it take to hit the 80 mark with the Donzi? Any Donzi guys out there.
