bravo drive ??

I was changing the drive lube in my bravo1's yesterday and i pulled this 3/8 bolt from the back of the drive, right under where the bravo 1 sticker is. What is this for? Also my hydraulic steering brackets are covering my bleeder holes so i just pulled the top caps off the drives and filled from the bottom until i could see the fluid at the level of the bleeder screw. Anything wrong with this method?

Filling that way is fine. The bolt in the back is one fo three that hold the shift detent housing on, the other two are probably just covered by your steering bracket. If you have a drive resevoir the best way to fill it is by first emptying and cleaned the resevoir and then leaving the cap off while you fill the drive with the vent plug in, make sure you fill very slowly it should take about 5 minuits otherwise you can blow the quad seal between the upper and lower. When the resevoir reached halfway full pull your pump on a put the plug in, let it sit for a while with the resevoir cap off and then just top of the resevoir to the full line.

So are you saying i should fill from the bottom with the vent cap on and fill until my resevoir is half full. I take it I need to leave the top cap on for this to work. I didnt realize it would push the fluid all the way up to the resevoir.
The previous owner loved to change oil and grease stuff and claimed to have changed the drive oil several times a season. It appears to be true as the fluid looked good as new. I let the drives drain (with the resevoir caps off) until the resevoir's were near empty. Filled the drive and then topped off the resevoir's. Thanks for the reply.
