I would have a tech check out the engine functions with a DDT. Sounds like the IAC isn't working very well. How does it do in FWD, does it ever stall?

I could be all wrong but I thought I heard or read these things have a switch that mementarily drops rpm when shifting to help prevent gear damage. If this is true could shift linkage or the switch be out of adjustment? Maybe someone else knows more about this.
Good luck.
Jerry.

jerry this is true with a drive that uses a clutch dog such as an alpha but the bravo uses what is known as a cone clutch and for the most part does not need a shift interuptor
