I did some mods and I'm still trying to forget about them.... took apart a perfectly good motor and it was never the same..... finally got the pros to put together basically stock again.... buddy had the 454 mag and was running 70ish with it... they are runners and hold tight to the water, always liked the hull. We went to a 26 and now the 31 wanting more cabin and a better ride...

Although they are apparently not absolutely needed on this particular boat, I strongly believe that tabs will enhance the overall ride comfort of most any boat. Sticking the nose down just a bit makes wakes much less hard. Planing should require a little less effort and fuel also.

Even lightweight Bennett's would be nice on this boat.

I agree with Ken.
Tabs can help any boat, especially in rough water.
A 4 blade prop may also help with the chine walking.

I have a 22 Scarab and it takes a while to plain... I am hoping that Tabs will help with that

Personally, I wouldn't own a boat without trim tabs (yes, even if I didn't design and build them :D ) It just adds so much more control and flexibility to even the most 'well balanced' hulls.

Ironically, a gentleman from CA. with a 22' Scarab (soon to be featured in a major boating mag) ordered a pair of 15" Victorys today. He wasn't so concerned with his planing times, but as deboatmon and Pat eluded to, simply wanted to stop from getting 'beat up' in nasty poker run water. Dropping the tabs a little will allow you to knife through waves. (and believe me, the better half will thank you! :D )

Longrange4u- I feel your pain brother. It's troubling to say the least, looking at the horizon while waiting for the boat to come over on plane. Trim tabs will most definitely help this situation and will make your drive a little happier too while performing your holeshot.

Perhaps one of the best features of trim tabs (especially with todays' gas prices :eek:) , is the ability to completely dial your boat's running attitude in for MAXIMUM fuel efficiency. Personally, I run a 23" Vic-tab system on the Martini and plane at ridiculously low speeds.
