Relax NOBODY,

Tom's no rookie in this game. R-tech has the know how and determination to re-invent forced induction.

OK, I'm happy now. Great way to tuck in the blow-off valve. How much boost do you expect and what rpm?

Awesome Tom keep up the good work I'm glad to see someone with a great product and all the R&D you're putting into it way to go.

Tom, you are gettin nuttier in your old age :) I suspect we are about to see some real incredible numbers soon. Good luck Mr Nutty Professor :)
PS, ain't no way, no how you gonna convince me to guinea pig that set up in front of the Black Hawk :) Even if the drive survived 5 minutes, I doubt I would !!!

just out of curiocity.....will you be running the blowers at a slower speed? I know Livorsi had a dual blower setup like this a few years back...they ran each blower at half speed i think so they could get away with not useing a chiller. :)

How many hours do you expect the big chief heads to last between lifter replacements. They make big power, but the offset lifter seems to be an issue.

Thanks guys:

I have an idea how much power, and so does GPM, but I'm reluctant to make a prediction. The amount of positive pressure differential across the cylinder makes a big difference to volumetric efficiency and HP. Cam choice and header performance are obviously related. We will have to wait and see. A back to back test on the 598 would be nice to see the Big Chief effect, but it's not my engine.

Boost depends on the heads and cam. I can tell you that engine RPM on the 557 Big Chief engine will be 7000 and blower speed will be 63,000, which is still under Vortech's recommended maximum. This is one reason for using two small blowers; the other is overall packaging on the engine. The gearcase is there to address drive belt issues, and allow the symmetrical arrangement of mirror image blowers.

We bring the product as fas as we can with our own R&D, but at some point an engine builder has to step up to the plate and do some R&D using our system as part of their package. Without these guys, we are just a bunch of shiny parts in a box. Laz knows what I'm talking about. And ultimately we are all counting on the customer to recognize the advantages and lay their money down.

P.S. NOBODY said this would be easy! :evilb:
