trim pump
 
on the trim pump for the drive does it matter which line goes in to the pump? ones black ones tan I changed the pump and forgot to write down which went where :( and last night the pump made noise put the drive did't move is it self priming?thanks for any help trying to get the boat out this weekend hasn't been out since :( 02 :( no money with the operations I'VE had for the last to years on my knees :eek: so 3 weeks ago I started getting it ready and this is whats holding me back now I'm all most ready to say f%CK IT AND THROW THE TOWEL IN cover it till next year :mad: thanks if anyone can help art

Usually the black hose goes to the "UP" (left hand side when looking at the pump), the gray (tan?) goes to the "DN" port (right hand side when looking at the pump). If you didn't empty the cylinders you should be ok. I like to leave a cap on the DN port, put the line DN line in the reservoir and run the drive up. This forces the pump to pull oil from the reservoir, not just recycle the oil (and air) returned from the other side of the cylinder. When the drive is up, remove the DN plug and reconnect the line. Trim up and down a couple times, should be good to go.
