Removing SOME of the hook. Opinions?

Moved the post to this section and added a pic.

I am thinking about removing the hook on the inside of the outer strakes only. My thinking is it will loosen the boat up at high speed but will still have the hook between the outer strake and chine for stability in rough water and keep it from porpoising in the mid-range. The hook was intentionally put there.

Thoughts and opinions?

I would leave it and play with props instead.

I'd consider adding some tabs before trying to modify the hull.

Tried quite a few. Turbo 1 24 and 25, Turbo 2+2 24, Mirage Plus 23 and 25, Solas HR 22 3b(It was suppose to be a 24, but they sent me the wrong one), Laser II 25 and Viper 23.

Well, with the hook built into the hull the boat needs no tabs with the way it is. Obviously if I modify the hull it might.
