V-Hull vs. Cat Hull
Asked this over here too but thought that maybe I was in the wrong forum...
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=113848 This is going to seem like a total newbie question but, well, I'm a newbie... What is the practical difference between a V and Cat hull of the same length? Handling? Stability? Plane out at different speeds? Cruise at different speeds? Fuel efficiency? One can handle bigger waves? One handles chop better? HP requirements? Thanks. |
Re: V-Hull vs. Cat Hull
knockoff you need to get yourself a ride in a good cat. That will answer your question. A v has a cabin. That is it :evilb:

Re: V-Hull vs. Cat Hull
I was hooked after my first Cat ride, in fact just this week we purchased a 36' Cat and for now we will keep the 38' TopGun as a family / cabin boat.
I am pretty sure the Gun will be sitting on her lift for a while, more than just the higher cruise speed, quality Cats just have an exceptional ride on the bay. As earlier stated you must see for yourself! |
Re: V-Hull vs. Cat Hull
Cats are a great ride, however the insurance industry is really hitting cat owners hard on the premiums.

Do a search in the general discussion area under "Great Moments"
Read the V History and Cat History threads. They will answer your question in detail. |
