I don't know if this will help, but here's what my engines are. They have never been dynoed, but I would guess around 500/side.

Started out as 454/420. Punched to 468, 10:1 compression, comp 292H cam, Merlin intakes, I forget what size Holley carb. All this was done before I bought it. The boat runs and idles great.

Zimm, Might think of what I did in adding small blowers. Tyler Crockett put together a bolt on package with 177 blowers that I found used(1300), I went with his custom CNC ported aluminum heads although he told me that he could rework the stock heads to similar results for much cheaper. Went with new cam and roller valve train. Dana exhaust. Crossover. Quick fuel blower carb. I used complete MSD ignition. The result is a motor that idles all day at 600rpm and accelerates and behaves as good as fuel injection. I did not touch my bottom end which was in good shape. Tyler claims this package to be between 600 and 650 HP. I did not dyno but my performance results would indicate just that. My big advice is that if you touch that motor plan to do it right and work with someone who can put proven components together. Eric

1800RUNSNEW.com sells 550 to 600 HP motors for less than 10K. Add your own carb, etc.

A.R., That's not my fountain. I have a Daytona. I have about 7000 in parts in each motor not including labor and drive upgrades. I recouped some money selling my stock parts. Could have been 5000 if I would have used stock heads and stock ignition wth a V-6 module.
