Dors the windage tray under the crank have a desired hight and does it affect oil temps. Mine is just below the crank half an inch.

Wobble,
Thanks for the detailed information. It is appreciated.
More questions.
What size oil lines are you using?
What size oil filter?
Are you thermostatically controlling oil temp at the filter mount or by any other means?

WOW! I just caught this! You are telling us that KE cools the oil from the engine BEFORE sending it to the filter, and THEN reads the temp?. Mommy told me NEVER to do it that way. --- Jer

#10 line with an swept stlye fittings.

No thermostatic control as we do not see extreme differences in water temp down here on the Gulf Coast. I am sure I would have to use one if I was further north. But then I might not need such a big oil cooler :D

In any case I try and get the oil above 212* anytime I run it.

BTW engine water temp runs 150-160* on a 140* t-stat.

O.K.; That's what I get for commenting. And now I know; If there are TWO ways to do something, and you ask which way is right, twenty experts will come back with TWENTY different ways to do one of those TWO things. To quote Gilda Radner, "Nevermind". --- Jer

Ditto, I still dont know if I am ok or not now. Ive got plenty of areas that need $ without throwing it at fancy pans or bigger coolers.

572 na 750hp pad mounted temp sender 210* beating it stupid (10 miles wot) but we have 16 quart pans with 10 quarts in it & 3" therm controlled coolers set to open @ 180*,
builder told me to subtract 10-20* for sump temp. because pump adds heat..

We got two threads covering the same territory here. From now on (and the last couple) my comments in this area will be in the "what size oil cooler "thread. --- Jer
