How much should one expect to pay to freshen a pair of 420HP mercs? ... but Id still like to go thru them and get new rings, bearings, timing chains, valve jobs, gaskets, and then have the carbs dialed in. The only reason i would like to do this is because I dont really know the history of these motors.

also depends on how much wrenching you want to do yourself to save money. You can bring them the long block minus all the acc and have them do the work....then when its all done, pick it up and put all the acc back on and bring it back again for dyno tuning etc....
