WOW!! Did a search on 383s.Alot of reading.I was wondering what kind of oil pans -windage tray set up is needed?Also what advantage is gained by useing hyd.roller cam vs std hyd cam?

When we talk about pans with stroker clearence, a 383, 3.75" stroke doesn't have major clearence issues for most pans so it shouldn't be a big concern, but just ask when you are ordering.
Hydraulic cams basically spin up faster then flat tappet cams. that is the difference you will notice when using one.

I used one from champ. I think its champpans.com.. A marine pan with windage tray and scraper, 7 qts.
