Stellings Jacketted Pipes - What is supposed to seal the joints

Started taking all three engines apart. The engines have Stellings jacketted pipes. The middle engine has the headers, long extensions, and finally the downturned extension. The other two engines have just the headers and the down turned extensions.
After I'm done with the engines, and go to install the headers, what is supposed to go in the joint area to seal the joint?

Thanks
Fred

RTV silicone although the mechanical fit is pretty good without any sealer.
