5 year old boat never titled.

There is a 2001 30 Cigarette Mystique for sale at Lake of the Ozarks. The boat has 377 Scorpions and sits on a Myco trailer.......what if any issues could you see with a boat that has sat this long? What would you say the boat is worth?

Just because it's never been titled, doesn't mean it hasn't been used. My boat is a 1986 that was never sold or titled until 2001. The owner before me said it had 42 hours on it when he bought it. It was at a Formula dealer who lost his Formula franchise. He never sold it, and his son in law took it out once in a while. I think the reason it never sold was because of the $148,000 list price. That was a lot of money in 1986 dollars for a thirty footer.

I'b be more concerned about resale with the Scorpions

The Mystique is kind of a odd boat. That would be the concern for resale not the 377 Scorpions. They are the same 6.2 motor made today and besides being small blocks they are a good motor putting out 320 HP each. Remember ten years ago 454 Big Blocks would barely break 300 HP each. If the boat is nice and could be had at the right price it would be a fun entry level Cigarette. Check out the Cigarette forum on the Mystiques.

I looked at that boat a couple of summers ago, nice boat. If you look at Raymond's inventory you'll notice alot of older untitled boats, don't know reason, could be over priced.

There was one at Raymonds with Red White and Blue flag graphics. I know it was there for at least 3 years.

What would you say a fair price for the boat is---I spoke with the owner today and she said the boat has only been out once.

"Fair price" to you and me is WAY, WAY different then what Char thinks. She's been sitting on that boat for five years and still won't cut her losses and sell for what the actual market will bear. Right now they're still listing it at $200K. To me a fair price for that boat is around $130K and that's generous, because you can buy a very comparable 28-30 footer for much less.
