Outdrive trim problems

I searched previous threads to try to find out what my problem is but haven't been able to find it. I'll keep searching but in the meantime maybe someone can help.
My Bravo was removed from the boat in order to replace the transom. The outdrive was reinstalled and when I finally got to test it it won't trim up at speed. It works ok at low speed and on the trailer but not at higher speeds.

Any help would be appreciated. I previously had read that the plumbing could be backwards but still allow the outdrive to work at low speeds. Is this correct?

Thanks

Sorry should have explained. The pump is rated to put out up to 2600psi on the up circuit and 600 on the down. The high pressure is what is needed to raise the drive with all the pressure the prop is putting on it (prop want's to go foward you want it to go back) when you are putting the coal to her. :drink:

Check the ground wire on your trim pump.

I checked out the hyd lines to the cylinders and they are connected properly. My next step will be to checkout the lines
from the pump. How do you minimize fluid loss when disconnecting (swapping) lines? On the trim cylinders which line is high pressure? I would imagine it is the lower one!

Thanks

Re: Outdrive trim problems

If you have a vaccum gun, (if not, some way of creating and holding a light vaccum) hold light vaccum on the reservoir and the fluid can not run down.

Sorry I told you a trade secret...now i'm going to have to .....you know :evilb: :D :D :D
Good luck
