help me build 540 950 hp
 

im ready to start building these two 540 10-71 blower motors. i want 900 hp with 5-6 boost. i also want to be able to run race gas and turn the boost up to 10 lbs or so on occasion. anyone who has a proven combanation please lets here it carbs all the way down to the crankshaft.

Better have some reallllyyyy good heads.

I think 800 hp at that boost level with a 540 is probably more realistic but I could be totally wrong.

I think 950 reliable hp from a 540 with only 5-6 psi of boost will be difficult to make unless you get some really exotic heads and solid lifter cam. I'm right there at 944hp/960 ft lbs tq with my 540 BUT I'm running 9-10 psi of innercooled boost using a centrifugal blower,hydraulic roller cam around .600 lift 234/240 at .050 duration,afr 315 cnc heads,thermal barrier coatings on pistons and heads. It idles at 750 rpm's/10 inches of vacuum,will run on 92 octane,Smitty

run profiler heads and you may need solid roller cams to make that much hp but you can do it. mer made 1240 hp at 6.5 lbs of boost on freds motors they weren't much bigger than 540's
