Shifting problem
 

I have Borg-Warner Transmission. When I shift my port gear shifter from forward to neutral to Reverse, I find it hard to find the neutral position. There is no "clicking" noise when moving the gear shifter into the neutral position. Any suggestions? Thanks

I found out they are KK's. The reason I'm trying to find out this info is one of my shifters detents doesn't seem to be working well. When I go from forward or reverse to neutral it doesn't seem to click. Therfore it makes it hard to find the perfect neurtal position. So, I was wondering what was wrong and what to adjust or replace. Any suggestions?

Are they cable operated or electric? if electric,the micro switches on the shifter or the servo might be bad!

I have the keik sticks with cables, and there are microswitches sandwiched in the controls. Pull the control assemble out and check it may be all crudded up like mine was, very simple set up.

There is a spring loaded detent behind the lever on the transmission, I would remove the lever watch the ball tries to jump out if not frozen. Check the spring replace if needed, may be weak or corroded. It should be lubed well including the back side of the lever where the ball rides, that should put a little feel back in it. Most shifters have detents, may need to be lubed and adjusted as needed.
