drive rotation change

I just installed new shift cables and change the cable location in the shift levers so that my drives turn inward.
The question I have is should I change the top cap in the B1 to a billet cap to increase support? If so, who makes billet top caps for 1990 B1'S? Or should I just switch caps from Drive to drive?
I am running 502 mag carb engines in a very heavy deep V with 23p @ 5200 rpm prior to switching to inboard rotation.

Thanks

Re: drive rotation change

Max Machine makes a nice billet cap. I ran my bravo 1 drives on my 311 with 645 h.p. and 600 + ft/lb torque for 4 years without any problems. Now same power in a 382 (#3000 heavier) with Max Machine drives. They would suggest swapping drives to other side to keep rotation the same, although their shafts are "rotational" alloy that supposedly take a set turning one way.

What ever cap you install, make sure you check the depth of the bearing race and compare to what you have.. they seem to be all over the place.. on that measurement..
