Mesa American Dream 556's Being Finished
 

Ok I know I haven't been posting much lately but we've just been busier than a one arm paper hanger. Here are some pics of the first finished 556 we started a couple of months back for the American dream I told you we were going to make 700 hp on 89 and I haven't made that yet but yesterday we made 680 with still some carb work to go and I found some big torque in the spacer for the carb. It's nice to be able to show some of this stuff so when you guys build your projects some of the research is already done. Strip how's it going hope all is good yes the blocks are bow ties tall decks and we used the Dart heads we were running in hte race engines I've always prefered to run smaller runner volumes and make the flow up in the shape so the cross section was still small enough to run with the new set ups these engines make power to 5800-5900 rpm and the torque stays on as far as 5200 right around 692 ft lbs keep in mind these are hydraulic rollers not solid. I'm going to be working closely with the carbs today because I'm getting some cylinders that are lightly hotter than others and I'm going to try to stagger jet them first and also to change the part throttle air bleeds to smoothen out the fuel curve.
