Any problems with oil filter relocation?

Anyone ever have problems caused by low oil pressure or anything else after installing an oil filter relocation kit?

I went to put my new chrome Holley fuel pump on last weekend, and low and behold, the fuel intake was so tight against the oil filter, there was no possible way to make it work. I found this puzzling--since I've never seen a SBF that didn't have the oil filter beside the fuel pump.

I ended up finding a Transdapt filter relocation kit for $25 on eBay including shipping, but I wanted to know of any horror stories before I put it all together, bent new fuel lines, etc.

Thanks!

The amount of destroyed engines as a result of putting the oil lines on backwards is considerable. I even admit to one back in the late 80's. Be very very positive that you understand the flow and connections and then have 3 other people check it too.

what he said^,,other than that, all your doing is moving the filter to a different location.

Exactly, the reason being that some filters have check valves to prevent drain back.

before you start your engine turn it over by hand with the filter off till you see oil come out the adapter this will tell you if it is right or wrong!

Thanks! I will triple-check. Toasting a motor with less than 25 or 30 hours on it would probably cause me to give up on boating go back to golf!

Toasting in 25 or 30 hrs?.... try about 25 or 30 minutes... if that... I had one engine that the "expert" had plumbed the filter backwards... It scattered in a spectacular fashion in about 20 minutes at speed.
