I'd guess BPM's, which is what theyre boats are currently rigged with. And the yanmar 900's bumped up to well over 1000hp w/weisman 4 speed trans. Throw in about 700 gals of fuel, just in case your in maimi and want to run to manhatten for lunch.

Thanks, you're right just not powerful enough. The 400/948 Tigershark would possibly work, but I guess still not available, and unsure of it's reliability. 3 would work vs 2 larger straight 6, 480hp Yannies. Jeff

Maybe you could twin turbo and get a little over 400hp. I can talk to my buddy about it. His father is the owner of marine power.I will see what i can find out for you if you are interested.

Anyone know the weight, length , width , height , bolt patterns , location of motor mounts , and HP / TQ @ RPM of the BIG THREE DURAMAX , CUMMINGS and POWERSTROKE over the past few years. Also which might be easier to add after-market upgrades to. They could all be set up with closed cooling , so the exhaust and ecm hook up would be the challange. The LB7 and LBZ DURAMAX make serious HP. Not sure How you could buy one , unless you got one from a salvage yard. I guess it would be the same for the cummings. They can make some BIG HP and until recently the injection was manual. Don't know a thing about the POWERSTROKE. I'm sure there are plenty of FORD guys that have lots of experience with POWERSTROKE. Seems like any one of these is a third to half the weight of YANMAR ,CATS and the others on the market. Any one of these will make a LOT MORE POWER . CHEERS AW
