Re: innercooler hose routing

On my V hull I ran 1 inch adjustable Hardin marine thru hull
pickups to gate valves 1 /14 hose to a sea strainer then # 12 feeding the intercooler then #16 dump out the front to thru transom dumps. Its nice to dump them on the side so you can see it. I also ran 1/4 inch bleed offs from the back of each
head to a tee to a 1/8 inch fitting feeding warm water into
the back of the intercooler.

1 pound per pound of boost good rule of thumb.
I have gauges reading presure on the intercoolers.

This method insures flow only when moving. The ajustability
of the pickup enables the increase or decrease of flow and
pressure.

This way worked well for me running 8 to ten lbs boost
on a v hull. Single stage sea pump with richard lee intercoolers. Full water jacketed tubular headers dry.exhaust

Re: innercooler hose routing

Now on my Cat I only want to run one pickup per engine
not two like above.

There are two ways I am considering.

One pickup gate valve 1-1/4 hose to large sea strainer
with two outputs one going to the single stage sea pump
feeding the engines. The other going to 1 inch check valve to
# 12 to the intercooler then # 16 dump.

Or maybe the better way One pickup, gate valve 1-1/4 hose to large sea strainer then to a triple stage pump
one stage feeds one side of engine the second stage feeds
the other side of engine. The third stage feeds
the intercooler. The only thing I dont like is it will feed water
at Idle. Most likely will need a gate valve to regulate
the presure to a tee dumping the excess over board.

Have I confused you yet?
Gerry :D

Oh yeah dont know if ya run in saltwater.

Just back flush the thru hull to rinse the intercoolers.

The engine flushing is taken care of via the gate valves
on the pickups with hose fittings teed after and before sea
pumps.
