Re: brodix heads for 500 efi

Here is a problem that I jest ran in to I did the Dart Pro 1s The accessory studs on the front of the heads of the cast iron heads are 7/16 course on one end and 7/16 fine on the other end now no the Darts and I'm assuming that Brodix would be the same the bolt hole's are 3/8 thats what Gm uses now here is the problem all your accessory's are set for 7/16 so options are to shim the 3/8 stud on the accessory holes or drill and tap the holes in the head to 7/16 but in my case that is not a option because the holes are to close to the edge of the casting Brodix my have more meet around the holes?? Another potion id to use like a shoulder bolt or a axle bolt but if you have to take the bold in and out of the aluminum I would not recommend for the risk of striping the threads a stud is the way to go. I'm having some studs made right now for me with 3/8 course and 7/16 fine I try ed calling every one I could think of ARP, Dart, Summit, and few bolt places
Good luck Don

The Pro1 heads seem to have more desireable features, but since the exhaust ports are raised .300", this could cause a problem with exisiting exhaust lining up properly.
