I have a few of them. Not boat related, anyway, I put a steering rac in a guys Toyota a while ago. He came back after a few days saying that now his power steering pump is leaking anti-freeze. He said he knows it's anti-freeze because he TASTED it.
Several years ago, I put a transmission in a Malibu. The guy came back the next day saying that his trunk is now leaking transmission fluid. I opened the trunk and found a bottle of ATF crushed and leaking in the corner. |
Re: funny stories...You fixed my_____and now my______doesnt work
Last summer I changed plugs, cap and rotors in a buddies cruiser. twin 350's. Started both motors to listen to them before I started, both ran perfect, but he wanted them changed. Did a compression check too.
1st motor would not fire. Messed with it an hr, still no luck. 2nd motor started, so figured I would start swapping parts. Started with the ignition modules. Nothing, so changed back. Now the 2nd motor wouldn't start! No spark. Chit! Now I'm thinking I fried both modules and my friendly offer just cost me big $$$. Thought that while doing the compression test, I fried the ignition system because I didn't ground the coil, then when I swapped the modules, the 2nd one got fried too! A couple hrs later with a couple of buddies helping, still nothing on either. Was not a very good mood at this point, needless to say. At some time I looked at the plug in connector behind the distrib for the ign module, contacts looked pretty corroded, so wire brushed them off, and BAM, back in business. BOTH motors had corroded connectors for the modules, that I disrupted when I removed the caps and during the swapping of parts. Then it was beer 30! |
