anyone ever re-dye leather? I dont want to change the color just freshen its faded.....

I have seen it done on household furniture with good results.

I'd like to try it too. The tan is wearing off the leather steering wheel in my F350 :(

there is a company called eastwood.... google them and they will show up. they are in the auto restoration business and make a wide variety of top flight uphostery products. i just bought some vynal dye to touch up my interior .... don't have it yet but expect it to be just fine. while shopping this saw lots of leather stuff for same...

Yeah , I've dealt with Eastwood before for auto stuff. Steering wheels take a lot of abuse. I'll have to check them out.

i see new steering wheels in the classified section here cheaper than trying to fix them... nice ones too.

I would suggest go to www.leatherique.com

They sell a variety of leather dye and care products. Very popular in auto restoration circles. Their stuff is very popular with Ferrari circle as they are notorious for having poor wearing leather.

I redid the leather interior in Ferrari that I owned. To do it correctly, it was a major undertaking to remove the old dye and re-dye. But, the results were worth it. Final result was a Ferrari national award.

If you're not particular, you could check out your local paint supplier, or someone dealing in doll-up supplies. You can purchase give it a quick blitz before it goes down the road used-car type product.
