I like the concept. I have a couple of concerns. First, many of us , myself included, have steering rams connected to the rear cap. I dont think there would be room to drill a hole for the fitting. Next, the 50 p.s.i. operating pressure seems kind of high to me. Those Bravo input seals are marginal already, with 50 psi, I cant see it holding for long. Or, is my thinking wrong. Is only the line pressurized and not the drive? Is that possible? Finally, most of us run an upgraded upper cap such as Teague's Billet cap. Can you drill that cap in the same manner.

Oil ran thru the pump under pressure will create heat in itself.

100* cooler. That's great. You can get 50* just from a good drive shower without having to involve mechanical parts. Seems like most drive failures are from abuse , driving habits and high hp, not hot oil.

Has it ever been determined what is the ideal drive oil temp?

Good points, I will ask about them although I know he has never been a believer in showers since they are not always taking in water, especially at speed. Maybe a shower with a seedo tube positioned pick up?

Looks like a great idea with wonderful results in temperature reduction! However.....the 50psi operating pressure and the cost I question. I have no idea of the amount of pressure that is created in a Bravo with fluid temps of 270 degrees but 50psi sounds excessive to me. I would love to have one to try and milk as many years out of my aging Bravo as possible, but the price alone will prevent me from trying it. Good luck with the product!

Nice concept.

Will the cap be weaker? I know some of the after market cap ads promote how much stronger their caps are, especially for left hand turn drives.

50 psi iis similiar to a dry sump 6. same principal i would think. not 50 psi of pressure in the drive, but 50 psi of line pressure more than likely. great cocept. more than anything high temps from high rpm kill these bravos.

That's how I take it also. Why not use a lower pressure system? Higher pressure creates higher temp. So you have to overcool to offset the heat buildup. In a Bravo appliction, your just needing flow, not pressure.


The Simrek Halo showers flow water all the time and all trim angles. I've peeked over the plateform while the wife was driving and water all over the drive. I swear if there was sand in the water, it would blast the paint right off. :) By using the pump idea, you eliminate the possibilty of prop cavition that some have experinced with the ues of a shower.
