Crower lifters

Who can get Crower solid rollers?

I need two sets of 66293H-16

These are for mk4 offset with pressure feed oiling.

Thanks in advance
Gerry

Yes they will go to dyno.

I am working the heads.
new copper B seats
manley titanium valves Custom order atleast two weeks
Icconel intakes
PSI springs
Td shaft rockers
Guides with oring seal on intake

Once we get the flow on the heads we can select a cam
something in the 260-270 420 lobe at 114cl solid

Atleast another month till I start assembly
I need to order pistons but waiting on block to get
the finish bore size.

So much to do. I am WFO!

caveman: I like your parts list. We were looking at a cam like that, but after working with rmbuilder ended up with something different. I assume you are using superchargers too. It's worth talking to him IMHO.

cave did you sell you 32 yet? i saw you had it listed on ebey. how did you do on the sale? get close to what you were looking for? sounds like your gonna make some ponies with the new mills. ratman

What cam did he recomend?

Here is the one I am considering
ground on a 114http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...tType=camshaft

Trying to get as close to 1200 on pump gas.
I would settle for 1100-1150

Caveman,
I have used that cam in many supercharged applications. Very good choice for a 540-557 cu.in. package with big chief heads, 8.2-8.5:1 comp., 7 plus psi boost . The next choice down I would go maybe 2 degrees less on both int. and ex. You will make the power you want. Thanks,

Dean Gellner

I'll try again,i've got two sets of push rods that fit these rollars for a tall deck block and Dart Alum heads.let me know the length you need and i'll measure mine.

I looked at that cam too, but I really wanted to take a stab at optimizing valve events for the centrifugal system. We ended up with less duration than you might think and found that we could not use anyone's master lobes. So the cam is CNC ground. We will test to see how it compares.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Rm builder specc'd my hydraulic roller cam and it was barely bigger than what I was previously running BUT I told him I wanted to make 900 hp around at 5600-5700,he looked at my combo I was planning on using, did some number crunching and said the cam he had ground for me should make 925-950 hp around 5600-5700 and idle almost like a stocker. When I dynoed it we made 942 hp at 5700 so he was DEAD on,Smitty

I,m a player for the pushrods lets see what I need
I should have the heads back late next week.

Tom, Have you done any 557cu 8.5 to one big chiefs with your setup?

What power would you exspect?

I was going to grab some 206B,s and run 15lbs.
Can you change my mind? :D

Thanks
Gerry.

Re: Crower lifters

The twin blower setup is on the way to Sterling right now to be tested on one of his 557 Big Chief engines. Currently he uses PSI or quad rotors to make 1500 HP. I have a good idea what we are going to make but I'm keeping that to myself for now... :D What's a 206B?

KNOT-RIGHT 02-10-2006 08:42 PM

Re: Crower lifters

206b is a PSI blower. The cam in this post is very similar to the cam Mike uses in his 557cu 1200/1500.

Gerry

Good luck with it!

KNOT-RIGHT 02-10-2006 08:55 PM

Re: Crower lifters

4.375 Bryant Billet Crank
Carrilo rods
4.5 bore
8.5 to one Ross Blower pistons
CFE Ported Big chief Heads
Titanium intakes coper seats
Iconel exhaust valves

crane 254/262 420 lobe ground on 114 Solid roller.
Whipple Double intercooler
PSI 206B.
Twin 1150 dominators

I have a pretty good idea what this will make
But I will keep it to myself :drink:

Re: Crower lifters

Gerry:

Sounds like 1500 HP to me. :D

The engine recipe is great, I mean really, how could it be any better? But when you've already got the best parts, more power can only come with higher boost. That means higher blower speeds, discharge pressures and temperatures. That's when all the trouble starts. Mike will soon find out if we can do any better.
