installing new shifter, Help!

I have a bit of a problem. I am changing from a single side mounted control to a dual top mounted Livorsi control. I have to fab a box to hold the new controls but it will have to be about 4 inches wide and this causes a problem with my cables. Since my old controls were recessed into the side the cables went straight into the controls. Now the new controls are about 4 to 5 inches off the side and the cables aren't going to make that kind of bend. Do I have to make a whole new side piece to run the length of the cockpit to hide the cables? Or do they have some type of end adapter for this problem?

Sounds like your going to have to reroute your cables. Bring them out low and up into the controlls

try changing to the blue jacketed ultra flex cables. they bend tighter radius's and are a better cable period. you'd be able to come out of the gaffrig unit and maybe bend forward up and then back to the existing location. using a cable say 2 ' longer should do the " TRICK" ;) .
also maybe use color coded spiral wrap to help hide the cables. also tie-wrap the cables together, which helps their operation during tight bends.
thats basically what we did for this gent here, and it worked out well.
good luck.
