Few Question on converting to a Closed Cooling system

I am setting this up for some salt water use

First. I am using a stock Mag Heat Exchanger like the one Pictured here on from checkmate454mag in this thread http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...closed+cooling
Will this exhanger cool a Full system (exhaust manifold also)? I have stainless marine exhaust manifolds ,Should I just run my water out them(1/2 system) or include them in the close system (full, if I can).

The T-stat housing. I see in the Merc parts break down they have a $275.00 Bypass housing. If I have the Water pump bypass hooked up ( the short 90deg hose that is hooked up to the intake manifold below the t-stat) can I just use a automotive type housing instead?

Last the overflow tank it is a Plastic bottle type?
Thanks
Mike

I don't think any closed system cools the exhaust also. It has to flow continuously.

As I understand it a Full system runs coolent to the manifolds and a 1/2 system only the engine block both dumping the freash water out the tail pipes. The differnce is the size of the exchanger. Am I wrong?

As I understand it myself....yes, that's true.
The raw water coming from the heat exchanger dumps into the exhaust risers then out the pipes as normal.
