Bravo shifting ??
My drive seems to shift into forward normally. When I shift into reverse there seems to be a second or two delay between the shift and when the gears engage. Anybody ever have this problem?

Re: Bravo shifting ??
Yes, just befor the upper gears and clutch go bad :evilb: :evilb: Seriously, I hope its nothing but a cable adjustment :D

Re: Bravo shifting ??
it means usually one of two things,
A) cable needs adusted B) cone clutch wear |
Re: Bravo shifting ??
Thanks guys, hopefully it's the cable. How hard is it to adjust? I noticed too when I drained the gear oil at the end of the season this year it was REAL stinky and a little darker than usual. The drive has over 600 hours on it with plenty of flight time. :D

Re: Bravo shifting ??
You might want to send that drive over to moffitt

Re: Bravo shifting ??
If I were you it would probobly be a good idea to dissasemble and check the bearings and gears my guess is that the gears are pitted and the bearing are prob pretty well warn along with the cone clutch, it all adds up to a drive problem.. and in the future you may want to concider changing the drive lube a little more often.....

Just like the Fram oil filter commercial. You can pay now....or alot more later $$$$$. Better to do it now, broken boats in June suck. :) |
Re: Bravo shifting ??
You've gotten some good advice here. I'd be really shocked if it was just a cable adjustment.
