Bravo 1 Wing Plate

Where is the best place to buy a wing plate for a bravo 1 drive. The drive is on a 2000 29' Fountain. The one that is one the boat now was one of the few that was manufactured by Fountain. I would like one that is either chrome or SS. Also will this wing plate fit a Bravo xr drive if I ever upgrade?

Thanks,

Mike

I might be wrong but I doubt Fountain makes that piece. It's the same style that Imco sells where it replaces the the front piece of the drive.

Re: Bravo 1 Wing Plate

I made the change over on my '99 from 'Fountains' rear cap to 'Lathems' rear cap. I didn't like the rough painted caps on my boat. They where the 1st thing to get replaced before the boat ever hit water.
What you have is SS, but in a very porous casting, which is why it is painted. I gave my set to a buddy who spent some time on them and polished them. They turned out very nice. I choose to get the lathem caps because I liked them better. The Fountains were a cast part, and I think the Lathem is billet. However, Fountains cap uses a straight bolt thur both ears, whereas Lathems are a stepped bolt. The top hole is larger than the bottom. You can buy the bolts from Lathem for ease, at a price, don't remember what $$. But I decided to just make spacers for the upper holes and use the Fountain bolts which I already had. The spacers are seen in the pic with my Lathem caps.
It may be just as easy to have yours polished.

I would also like to know if the wing plate is the same from the Bravo 1 to the XR drive?

Thanks Nordic95

WPM makes a wingplate. I had one one on a single bravo. Very nice looking product.

You're welcome. But double check with the pros before ordering. I don't refund $$ for misinformation.
