S/B chevy heads??

I am looking for a little more power in my 260,I don't want to spend alot right now,I plan on a new boat in a year or two so I don't want to sink alot into this one,I am looking to get around 330-350 hp and 350-400 ft lbs of torque out of my small block what is the best head for the money? I know I can get vortecs but what about the old school fuelie heads? or any others that make good power?? I am a ford guy so I don't know the secrets to a chevy.I would appreciate the help.Thanks......

best simple way is go with the votec heads alittle porting wont hurt either as the seals say: " K.I.S.S." and cheap

go with a good cam and maybe some stainless marine headers to breath better nice clean reliable set up should put you about where you want with no head aches

you want a flat top piston engine, so look for some thing with a 72 cc chamber so you compressions does got to high then you can stay away from a dish piston. i use to run the 882 casting # sbc oem heads with a 202 int and screw in studs on a 383 short block and it made great power and an azz load of tq, doug herbert has sbc roller cam, lifters, etc for great prices.

what did they come on? I am going to use the stock shortblock for right now,I was going to build one but I need to cut a few costs to do other things on the boat and the shortblock is in great shape with low hrs,I figure a set of heads and a cam bolt on will still be better than what I have now, what kind of grinds look good for a mild head? I will prob keep it at 112 LCA around 220 duration @.50??? .5000 ish lift?? that is around what I see with mild heads, input???
