Dyno results - supercharged 525EFI

2 Attachment(s)
I just got the results from Arizona Speed & Marine. We installed an Rtech system on a customer's 525EFI and sent it out to Jim for programming. Engine was freshened and Cometic gaskets were installed.

This is the same blower and intercooler that we use for the HP500EFI. We used the same pulley on the blower, but the better heads, cam and headers made a noticeable difference, 873 HP @ 5600 RPM. You can tell by looking at the curves that 900 HP is waiting for us at 6000 RPM, but we didn't want to run the stock valvetrain that high.

I plotted these results on the attached graph along with the HP500EFI dyno results from Mark at Precision Marine last summer.

This engine is being installed in a single engine cat. You can see a sister engine in Doller Offshore's booth in Miami.

Thats a great job . Beautiful torque and horsepower curve. You should be proud of it.

Very nice. Not to be taken wrong but do you ditch the closed cooling that is stock on 525?

The stock closed cooling heat exchanger is replaced with a remotely mounted heat exchanger of much larger capacity (available from Victory Marine). Obviously we need to do this to mount the blower but there are other benefits. IMHO the stock system is ugly and would never keep up to the new HP levels under sustained load.

Nice. What boost? Do you use the stock computer or change it out?

How close is the vortech to the sport tube?

Thanks I knew stock would not be enough. What happens to the old heat exchangers removed? Thinking of adding system to 502 mag. I think keeping the closed cooling is a big plus in my opinion.

Is that a stock 525EFI bottom end?

Marty: 7 psi and MEFI4b

Cam-shaft: The blower inlet is mostly inside the headers, over the valve cover. A K&N filter will fit with a bit of an elbow/reducer.

paradigm shift: The old tank won't fit anything but the Merc heads with the water outlets on the front of the heads.

375stinger: Subliminal advertising. :evilb:

Back4More: Victory Marine freshened this engine and used better rings, bearings and Cometic head gaskets. Heads and cam are stock.
