496/bravo flush
on 496ho with bravo 1 drive does the drive have a water pickup or is it thru the hull?also how do flush the manifolds with closed water cooling.

Re: 496/bravo flush
unless the boat manufactor put thur hull pickups in the water pickup is throuh the drive, if you can get to the drive just use a set of earmuffs alot of times sonic put flush setup in the boat if this is the case you will see a water hook by the swim platform.. just hook hose to it turn water on fire up mtr let run about 10 min your all set DO NOT RUN BOAT WITHOUT WATER RUNNING !!!!!

Re: 496/bravo flush
these are a twin set up on 35 fountain ex the boat in rack storage so i can't run earmuffs everytime i pull it out.can i put a ball valve to shut the water from the drive and put a hose fittng in front of the valve?

Re: 496/bravo flush
yes there are several ways to set it up the easyest is a pro flush from perko has check valve built into it so no need for ball valve just place in line between pump and water intake, run 1/2" hose to remote flush and your done cost for the kit is about 150.00

Re: 496/bravo flush
thank you.another question the boa is running in saltwater.my understanding is the raw water only goes thru the heat exchanger and manifolds.if i only flush it every other week do you see a problem no air is getting in?

Re: 496/bravo flush
you should be ok but better to flush all the time and once in a while with a product called salt away

I like the pro flush idea, any idea what the intake hose size is? Bravo 3-7.4
|
That would be 1 1/4 inch size, installed.
