Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
Does anyone know anything about Tourgue Engineering and the exhaust manifolds they make? There's a guy selling a pair of them and he claims they're for a BBC but the exhaust inlets are round. Aren't they suppose to be more rectangular? Any input would be great. Thanks!

Re: Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
Lots of BBC exhausts have round openings at the flange. I'm afraid I don't know much about Torque exhaust though. Do you have a picture?

Do they make an adapter to go from rect. to round? Here is pictures of the exhaust. Thanks for the reply!

Re: Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
Don't know anything about that exhaust. You don't need an adapter just because the holes are round. Most headers are round also. I know my CMI's are round where they connect to the head.

Re: Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
i have 2 sets of them. mark at bam said they are drake headers, you need to run the felpro gasket with the round holes to match, the square exhaust gskts WILL leak at the corners. i'll sell mine cheap as i bought gen 3's for my blower motors. pm me if you have any addl q's. mine are in the swap shop. rm

Re: Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
Does anyone know how long the runners are in the manifolds or what other brand of exhaust they can be compared to? Thanks for the great replies guys. :drink:

Re: Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
I have two sets of these headers - only one of the sets has tops - great shape - pressure tested. The top bolt on flange has a wide bolt pattern . I used them for a 1,000 hp supercharged application - I was able to run these for long periods without failure - Std SS headers would pop welds all the time - Never had any trouble with these in Superboat class -

Re: Tourgue Engineerng exhaust manifolds????
I have those manifolds too. I talked to Brownie at Stainless Marine when I needed a set of tailpipes and he called them Lightning manifolds. Supposedly designed by Keith Eikert. I use Mr Gasket mrg-5912 from Summit. 16.99 a set. They work good too.

THESE PICTURES ARE THE OLD LIGHTNING PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS OFFSHORE EXHAUST SYSTEM, THIS WAS BACK IN THE LATE 80'S WHEN KEITH EICKERT WAS THERE. THIS MANIFOLD WAS A GREAT MANIFOLD, THE BOLT PATTERN ON TOP WAS A DOMTA. CARB BOLT PATTERN. THEY WERE 34.5" WIDE ON A STD DECK BLOCK WITH CAST IRON GM HEADS AND AROUND 25" HIGH , THESE WOULD NOT FIT IN A DUAL ENGINE, ONLY STAGGER OR CAT BOATS. LIGHTNING CHANGED ITS NAME TO TORQUE ENGINEERING WHEN KEITH LEFT THE COMPANY.
