Just wandering how many people are still running the 800 SC's? I am just finishing up on a pair for a 38' Cigarette now. Don't know of a whole lot of these out there.

Re: 800 SC's...?
John,
Did you guys rebuild these? Who did the machine work? Thanx Steve |
Re: 800 SC's...?
I had Walt at Charlies Machine do all the machining and the rotating assemblies and I did the rest. I just didnt have the time to do the assemblies with boat shows and other engine stuff going on. That helped me out with the time line thing! :D We did the rest of the assembling at the shop and all the painting and dressing. I hope to run them on the floor next week and them put these puppys in. Warm weather is coming soon! :D

Re: 800 SC's...?
My Slingshot has 800sc's and SSMV's. Sterling rebuilt the motors 150 hours ago and I've never had to touch them.

Re: 800 SC's...?
What kind of timing cover is that? I've been looking for a 2 piece timing cover for my gen 5's.

The cover I have on these are aluminum one piece covers. I like to have the stability of the cover when running a roller cam. I could have probably used the stamped steel one but like these better and they look better as well.
Cloyes makes one that I have used before. Runs around $120.00. If you need one like this you can get it from Summit Racing. Cheers! :D |
Re: 800 SC's...?
Unfortuately that looks like a mark 4 cover. Thanks anyway.
