Aftermarket Exhaust for 350 Mags...

I'm seriously considering purchasing a 2835SSI Chapparal that was recently traded in at our dealership. It is a 1999 model with twin 350 Mags in it. Since it is a Florida boat, I am assuming that the stock manifolds are pretty much toast (or are soon to be toast). As part of my purchase, I am thinking about having the shop replace the manifolds and risers.

What aftermarket ones should I consider? Are there any performance gains to be had with aftermarket manifolds/headers on a pair of small block 350 Mags? Or is it "cost prohibitive"? Or should I just replace them with the stock ones?

Thanks
Steve :drink:

PS. Anyone interested in a 1990 Formula 292 SR1 that is absolutely in great condition?

I don't know the answer to your question, but go for the purchase! Those SSI's are killer boats. It's a fantastic mix of pleasure and performance, you can't go wrong with it. I'm actually surprised more major cabin cruiser brands haven't designed some of their hulls to be more like this one. Good luck!

My wife HATES the layout of the Formula cockpit! She'd probably go boating more with a more family friendly layout-like the SSI or Sunsport boats.

But, I like going boating without her! :evilb: Just kidding... :D

Thanks for all the links! BUT, I'm still left wondering if there are REALLY any gains to be had on the small blocks. For approx $4,000 to buy the parts, are my gains going to be worth it?

Thanks
Steve

With the manifolds I think the biggest gain is weight savings, with the headers there will be weight savings as well as HP gain. I don't know this for a fact. Just my 2cents

I just ordered a set from Revolution Marine for my Procharged 350Mag. The salesman told me that they picked up 12 HP on a bone stock 260 horse small block, I don't remember the torque #. If I pick up 20hp I will be happy.

4000 for what?
:D For 4k you can build a healthy small block and some. Just got done with a 355 inch made 387 on the dyno for $3000, thats with brand new edelbrock heads which were 1000, small hyd cam, eps performer intake and 650 carb. I will put on some used ebay exhaust and call it good for under 4k :evilb:
