I tried that but it comes up with a bunch of different cams. I'm assuming its this one for a GenVI 502 full hydraulic roller?

Re: crane 741 series
I was just trying to find something compatable with the cam I just bought. I have a custom ground Clay Smith.
in. opens 37 in closes 77 duration at .050 246 in valve lift 630 ex opens 77 ex closes 37 duration at .050 246 ex valve lift .630 This cam was ordered specially for a set of Canfield heads. I've been waiting 4 months for the heads and am about ready to give up on them. I was looking as some Darts or some World Products from Teague. I found a couple of places that actually have them in hand. I can't find any AFR's in stock anywhere. Teague recommended I ditch the Clay Smith and go with the 741 series instead, I'm a little confused because they seem similar as far as lift goes. Anybody have any heads they can ship immediately? I need to get this back together and get it over to AZSM before Desert Storm Poker Run. If not I will probably go with Teague's heads that they custom spec out from World Products. |
Re: crane 741 series
Badkachina,
The primary difference is the Clay Smith is a single pattern and the Crane is a dual pattern cam. The Crane is 10º shorter on the intake side, slightly less lift, and 2º shorter on the exhaust side with similar lift. Most marine applications benefit from a dual pattern profile. What runner/combustion chamber dimensions will you be using? We may be able to help with the AFR product line. Bob |
Re: crane 741 series
Canfield is behind 500 sets of castings. . .marine hard anodized don't even mention. RMbuilder has the AFR deal...

Bob I was going to use 310 intake runner with 125 combustion chamber to drop my compression a little since it's a blower motor. I figure I can run either 310 or 325 intake runner with 118 or bigger chamber. The motor is a gen vi 502 mag efi with a vortech supercharger. |
