IMCO Shortie vs BMAX Shortie for Bravo 1
Due my drives being lower than desired on stellings boxes(long story), I am investigating shortie lower units.
Any opinions on the pro's / con's of the IMCO Shortie vs. the BMAX Crescent Lower shortie? The only differences I can find are a slightly different design and a 1 year warranty on the BMAX lower, and no warranty on the IMCO. The design of the anti cavitation plate on the shortie BMAX looks like it might cause some drag, but I don't know. Lastly, any opinions on this method of solving the problem? Thanks, Garrett |

Also have been pointed to Max Machine Worx. They have a really nice looking billet piece. As you might imagine, the price goes up. Thanks, Garrett |
Re: IMCO Shortie vs BMAX Shortie for Bravo 1
I spoke with Dean and am also considering the Imco vs the Bravo shorties. He said they had less drag because they were only 19 1/4" long. Anyone had experience with the Bravo shop and their products? Dean sounds like a great guy that really knows his stuff. I am thinking about getting the 2" shorties and leaving my top piece alone, or go with his recommendation of the x-gears on top. He said they were better than the xr gears. Anybody have experience?

Re: IMCO Shortie vs BMAX Shortie for Bravo 1
Has anyone experienced any water pressure issues with the Bravo Shop drive? I have read in other posts where the Imco had high water pressure.
Also, what about the slip going with 2" shorties? Do 5 blades work better with this setup? Thanks. |

I will know first hand very shortly if there are any speed gains or handling differences between the sportmaster & BMax lowers, I will be testing the crescent lowers on my 35 Single Step Fountain soon. Here is a pic of the Sport Master Lower & of the BMax lower
